Loteria Card
This project was for us students to talk and show what our identity is. We all made a loteria card that we felt that identifies us. Loteria is a mexican game that resembles to bingo but instead of numbers, there are cards with images. Our project was to make our own card and we had to pick a word in spanish that resembles us to make a card for it. For my card I picked “La Fanática” which means “the fangirl”. For the front of the card, we had to make an image and add color to it by making a mosaic of the image. On the back of the card, we had to make a collage of words and images that we feel represents ourselves. For this project, I had to use my art skills to make the image in the front look on point. I learned a lot of new spanish with the presentation component of the project. It was like one of the first assignments where I had to make what I was saying in spanish make sense. I felt like it was hard to fill in my presentation sheet because I didn’t even know any spanish grammar rules yet and besides that I had to memorize it for the actual presentation. Also, I usually get super nervous when I do presentations because I don’t really like speaking in front of crowds and since the presentation was graded, that got me even more nervous for if I messed up. One of the easier things about this project was the part where I had to design my card because I got to use my creativity. But even though the design part was easy, the actual construction of the card was frustrating because it was easy to do but is really time consuming. Overall, I liked this project a lot because I feel like it was the start of my spanish learning and I think that my loteria card turned out great.
